It may not come as a surprise that at Walker Tape, we love our hair system tapes. But we have other products that we’ve put a lot of love and care into. Our prep products are a great example. Each one has been made with you and your clients in mind, to ensure that you’re able to provide the best service possible.
One of our more popular kinds of prep products are our scalp protectors. These are a great prep product to have on hand for any stylist. If you’re unfamiliar with scalp protectors, here is a quick overview of what they are and what they can do.
What Are Scalp Protectors?
To start, let’s explain what scalp protectors are. They are prep products that do what they say, they protect the scalp and help increase adhesive or tape hold times.
It’s not uncommon for adhesives to cause some irritation on some clients. While this irritation often isn’t terrible, it’s still not fun to have to deal with if it comes up. Scalp protectors are designed to protect the skin from irritation caused by the adhesive without disrupting its hold. In fact, scalp protectors not only avoid loosening holds, but they are also designed to help increase the hold of an adhesive. This is why stylists will often use them on all of their clients, and not just the ones with sensitive skin.
Scalp protectors help increase the hold by protecting the adhesive from the wear and tear of daily life. This includes things like:
- Natural oil produced by the skin
- High humidity
- Sweat
Since scalp protectors are able to create a barrier between adhesive and the skin, the adhesive is less likely to be weakened by these factors.
